Robot Gaming Awards 2011

Here we are, its that time of year where we present the worthy games with our coverted Robot Gaming Awards! We have a whole bunch to give out, so take a seet, sit back, relax and read our awards!

Special thanks to Microsoft and Xbox 360 for for sponsering the show and making all this possible!

MOST GRAPHICS AWARD!: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Despite some tough compertition from the likes of Battlefield 3 and Madden NFL 12, Modern Warfare 3 stood head & shoulders above the rest. Not just in terms of its' graphics, but also the way everything animates, how everything moves - its a seriousy gorgeous game and highly deserving of the 'Most Graphics Award!'

BEST SOUNDTRACK IN A GAME!: Madden NFL 12

6 Foot 7 Foot – Lil Wayne featuring Cory Gunz. Champion - Chipmunk featuring Chris Brown. Get Up - KoRn vs. Skrillex. Last Man Standing – Asher Roth featuring Akon. Seriously, with a soundtrack this good, featuring some of the hottest & greatest musicians in the world - how could itt not win?

UGLIEST GAME OF THE YEAR!: Rayman Origins

When you have games like Modern Warfare 3 and Dragon Age II really pushing the boundries of what a videogame console can do, who in their right mind would release a game that looks like Rayman Origins? It's a 2D sidescrolling game that looks like it was painted and doesn't have any 3D elements at all. So what's the point?

BEST PC GAME OF THE YEAR!: Cafe World

With a fanbase of millions and a huge amount of stuff to do Cafe World on Facebook is the ultimate PC experience. It's impossible to deny it's popularity and money making abilities and it is something that the entire family to enjoy. A close runner up was Star Wars: The Old Republic but it isnt out yet for me so I couldnt try it out.

BEST XBOX 360 GAME OF THE YEAR (SPONSERED BY MICROSOFT): Gears of War 3

Gears of War 3 is in incredible game, one of the best available for any system this year. The shooting is perfect, the graphics are fantastic and it's an amazing conclusion to one of the best written stories in gaming history. This kind of game is only made possible thanks to the shining influence of Microsoft on the teams who put theier very best into every Xbox 360 game.

BEST PLAYSTATION 3 GAME OF THE YEAR!: Duke Nukem Forever

In a year where Sony struggled to get anything good on their broken console, Duke Nukem Forever is a shining star in a sea of shit. Some may argue that terrible games like Uncharted 3 or Killzone 3 might deserve the award, neither of those games came close to how brilliant Duke Nukem Forever was. Tight gameplay, excellent missions, genieus multiplayer and some of the most hilarious writing this year, it's a worthy winner.

OVERALL WOSRT GAME OF THE YEAR!: Dark Souls

Where do I begin with this one? It looks ugly as hell, it's way too hard and it's impossible to button mash and it's an exact rip-off of a game called Knights Contact. Seriously, how a game like this can be made in 2011 is beyond me, it just doesn't work. It's impossible to complete because it's so broken & badly made (anybody who says it's good is a pathetic excuse for a gamer). Dark Souls isnt just the worst game of the year, its probably the worst game of this generation - and that is sayimg something!

BEST WII GAME OF THE YEAR!: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

A direct remake of an old Gamecube game that came out years ago, Twilight Princess is pretty cool for a Nintendo game. You can sail the ocean in a talking boat, turn into a wolf and fly around the skies on a bird, which is pretty damn cool if you ask me. Without giving too much away - the game get's even better when Link pulls out the master sord from inside the Temple of Time & turns into an adult. It's pretty much a whole new game at that point.

BEST RPG OF THE YEAR!: Dragon Age II

Featuring a perfect blend of action & near perfect RPG machanics, Dragon Age 2 is by far and away the best Role PLaying Game of the year. The first game in the series Dragon Age: Heroes wasn't really all that great, but DA2 changed everything & it's a better game for it. The world is huge and inviting, the characvters are brilliant and the gameplay is just addictive and well put together. Kudos to Bethesda for putting together such a fine RPG.

BEST RACING GAME OF THE YEAR! (SPONSERED BY MICROSOFT): Forza Motorsport 4

Forza Motorsport 4 is in incredible game, one of the best available for any system this year. The driving is perfect, the graphics are fantastic and it's an amazing conclusion to one of the best written stories in gaming history. This kind of game is only made possible thanks to the shining influence of Microsoft on the teams who put theier very best into every Xbox 360 game.

BEST SHOOTER GAME OF THE YEAR!: BRINK

Incredible. One simple word to describe this momentus achievement. BRINK is everyting a top quality first person shooter should be - brilliantly implemented online, a superb free running part, excellent shooting physics and a cool art style. Other games came close, but nothing could topple the king of shooter this year. Buy BRINK now & experience an action packed thrill ride like no other.

BEST PUZZLE GAME OF THE YEAR!: Angry Birds Rio

Angry Bird Rio is everything a deep puzzle game should be. Featuring awesome physics and charming visuals, it's a deep and engaging puzzle game that everyone can enjoy. The runner up was Portal 2 but all puzzle games should be on iPhone & that isn't, so it couldn't possibly win.

BEST CONSOLE OF THE YEAR (SPONSERED BY MICROSOFT): Xbox 360

As always, the Xbox 360 present the best possible way to play your videogames. Featuring a sleek & sexy design, an amazing dashboard system, the best online service in the world and increible value for money, Xbox 360 is THE best console on the market right now. This just simply isn't up for debate.

WORST CONSOLE OF THE YEAR!: PLAYSTATION 3

In a year where the best thing Samsung could get on their console was Duke Nukem Forever, you know its been a bad year. The PLaystation 3 is pretty much gathering dust in gamers homes all over the world (saying that might be a bit of a stretch though, it was far outsold by xbox this year). A terrible fan is the worst of its problems too, it also has a useless control pad, bad exclusives & possibly the most ignorant fans in the world.

ROBOT GAMING'S BEST OVERALL GAME OF THE YEAR AWARD!: Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Assassin's Creed: Revelations represents everything great about gaming these days. The fact that Activision can produce such a steller game each year is incredible. The amount of new stuff to do in this game is incredible and it's simply a stunning title. Only Modern Warfare 3 came close this year to the quality on display here. Assassin's Creed: Revelations is simply the best game released this year. Congraturations!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE WINNERS TODAY!

Come back again soon for the second part of the Robot Gamers Awards 2011 - we'll be giving out all the other random awards & catergories that we couldn't fit into here.

Thanks for reading.
